Smorgasburg LA

Instagramable food has become one of the most important factors at almost every event. Food that looks just as good as it tastes is a crucial way to keep guests sharing and to keep guests posting! As a passionate foodie and an event marketer, I knew I needed to check out Smorgasburg LA, the mecca of all “share worthy” food in Southern California.

I spent a perfect Sunday afternoon experiencing all that my stomach could handle! Smorgasburg is a west coast foodie’s paradise in the middle of an otherwise very urban area. Bright picnic tables and umbrellas line the blacktop where the food festival lives. Carefully selected vendors did not disappoint; between authentic Hawaiian fried shrimp, tropical fruit infused teas, and vegan “chicken” nachos, I still can’t choose a favorite! As an event professional, I give them credit for fabricating an urban area and curating vendors that created a holistic experience specifically catered to their market. WIth plenty of vegan options, countless Instagram opps, unique fusions of foods from all different cultures, and a laid back atmosphere it was perfect for LA locals and tourists alike.

Spotlight on Skylight Group

We were recently at the General Idea fashion show at the Skylight Clarkson Square, NYC – a location made by Skylight Group. For those in fashion, Skylight Group is well known. They transform historical properties in New York and California to host exclusive and high end events. They repurpose and fabricate old, disused spaces for some of the biggest names in the game. Hosting the primary locations of New York Fashion Week for the past two years, their client list includes fashion icons from Ralph Lauren to Kanye West. Having your venue developed by Skylight has become a staple in upping the status of your event. NY Fashion Week starts September 7 – we’re counting the days!

From street stunts to on-site show staffing, if your brand is showing at fashion week, we can help. Contact us for a free consultation

Governors Ball: Brand Activations

We rounded up some of the brands that participated in the popular Governors Ball in NYC this past weekend!

COCA-COLA

The “Share a Coke” campaign is back! Coke had a relatively large set up including art installments, an ice bar, a vending machine, and a backdrop for pictures. The ice bar and art installments caught the eye of many attendees who were then invited to use the vending machine which personalized your name on a can of Coke.

SUBWAY

Subway created “The Green Room” as an oasis for attendees who were hot and hungry. They offered free sandwiches, cookies, an air conditioned lounge, and charging stations with a live feed from the main stage so everyone lounging didn’t miss a beat.

RAY-BAN AND CITI

Although very different companies, both had the same idea when it came to unique experiences for guests. Citi offered a viewing deck for attendees who had used their Citi cards at the festival. Ray-Ban offered an exclusive balcony for people who used their hashtag on social media.

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!

“Insta-worthy” food was everywhere. Many brands came up with unique packaging, branding, delivery, and more in order to try to generate buzz on social media. John’s Juice and Electric Sky Wine offered aesthetically pleasing drinks. The Infatuation app branded on-the-go coconut cups and Taiyaki NYC brought their famous matcha ice cream.

Not Your Traditional Ice Sculpture

Ice sculptures use to be a staple at expensive weddings and the butt of many jokes in romantic comedies. But now, with a bit more sophistication, artistry and creativity, ice is edgy and has become a way to showcase brands in a fun way at events.

Just remember, ice melts, and most of these lovely creations will only last 8 hours, so use them wisely, but have some fun.
