40th Celebration: Hamilton Theme, NYC

We created birthday history with a throwback to 1777! America's fiercest were out in full force for this 40th birthday celebration—guests arrived decked out in Hamilton-inspired costumes and played Founding Fathers Flip Cup. Freemans, a unique restaurant tucked away in a nondescript alley, provided the perfect setting, as if in a time period all its own. Music played, guests signed the “Bill of Rights & Wrongs”, and raised a glass to the birthday boy. Hamilton quotes were sung and rapped throughout the night, including one so fitting for the affair: “Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now! History is happening in Manhattan and we just happen to be in the greatest city in the world.”  Once the host of the evening returned to modern day, she dropped us a note to say, “People have been raving about the event. Thank you!”

Birthday Celebration In NYC

The days of the dead (October 31 - November 2) are truly a celebration of life. So when we were asked to design an early November birthday celebration for a vibrant, fashion executive, the theme presented itself. The end result was an intimate affair in a stylish, dark haunt with delicious Mexican fare. Guests raised a glass, savoring every moment, just as the days are intended.

Here’s a sampling of the mood board presented to bring the theme to life:
